Are you someone who is passionate about supporting financial professionals to achieve their transformation objectives? Do you have an interest in new technology, artificial intelligence, and automation tools? Can you balance the need for financial control with the appetite to drive efficiency? Then this role could be for you.
We have a 12-month secondment in Group Finance Systems to lead the mobilisation of a team of individuals to support Finance colleagues to deploy the latest technology to help drive the transformation agenda. This role will work very closely with our IT colleagues to understand the pros and cons of the technology available to us in Finance and then support Finance colleagues to identify the right tool for the job and start using it, paying attention to best practice guidance and financial control requirements.
A bit about the job:
Reporting into the Head of Group Finance Systems, the individual will play an important role in helping Finance to meet its transformation objectives. The role holder will have team management responsibility of a proposed team of 3 to 4.
On a day-to-day basis, the role will involve overseeing the outcomes and supporting the delivery of a backlog of automation initiatives across Finance to:
1. Refine our understanding of tool capability and restrictions.
2. Ensure best practice is being followed, including adherence to risk and control objectives.
3. Roll out training / knowledge share across the finance community.
4. Challenge colleagues to drive further automation and efficiency.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* A natural desire to explore how new tool sets can be used to automate processes and data flows and drive efficiencies, including the ambition for ongoing learning and improvement.
* Experience in utilising tools such as Power Apps, Copilot and artificial intelligence highly desirable.
* It would be beneficial to have some experience of Finance deliverables and risk and control objectives.
* However, an accounting or actuarial qualification is not necessarily required.
* Being a natural self-starter, collaborator and leader are all essential strengths.
