In partner with a Special Needs School near Colchester, we are seeking several Teaching Assistants to work with pupils from primary age through to post-16 (5-18 years). Each pupil is treated as an individual and their needs range from low functioning (Non-Verbal, Severe Learning Difficulties) to high functioning (Verbal, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Asperger’s Syndrome) Most students are statemented with Autism and have tailored education programmes.
This particular role would be great for existing SEN Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Care Workers, Graduates or Students (Art, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Sport and more), Ex-Military or Police, Youth Workers, Sports Coaches, Behaviour Mentors, 1:1 Teaching Assistants.
Expect to be managing challenging behaviour on a day-to-day basis; class sizes are small with a high ratio of support staff to each child. You will be supported by all staff at the school and will work from 8.30am until 3.30pm on either a part-time or full-time basis. The role is available immediately, so ideally you will be able to start ASAP but this is not essential. Working through Teaching Personnel means that you will work at the school on a long-term temporary basis, with the opportunity to gain a permanent contract at the school. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
