Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic individuals to join our Phlebotomy Team. We have a full time post (37.5 hours) and a part time post (20 hours) available. You will have the ability to work flexibly in order to meet changing work demands of the service. You will be expected to work across two sites to cover the services at Barnsley Hospital and the Community Diagnostic Centre at the Glass Works in Barnsley town centre. The hours will include evening and weekend working. We are looking for a team player who is able to use their own initiative and cope well under pressure. You will be willing to undertake training and already possess a good understanding of confidentiality. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels. Previous phlebotomy experience would be advantageous but not essential. Main duties of the job This role is to obtain blood samples from adult patients through venepuncture. They will assess, monitor and manage the venepuncture site to ensure trauma to the area is kept to a minimum. Please see the job description for further information.
