Charity Governance Manager – Hybrid (Lingfield/WFH) £50,000 All year round 37 hours per week We are seeking someone with experience in managing the governance of a children's and young persons charity working with Governors, Trustees and Executive teams. About The Job As the Charity Governance Manager, you will support the organisation to ensure it complies with all governance legislative and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day, your role will include… Supporting the Executive Leadership Team to continuously advance the effectiveness of the charity’s governance structures and associated policies in line with industry best practices. Working with, and being, the main point of contact between the Chair of the Board of Trustees and the Chief Executive. Undertaking the duties of the Clerk to the Education Governing Body (EGB) of St Piers School and College. Keep the charity up to date with relevant legislative changes, guidance of charity governance and education governance. Identifying and introducing improvements to processes for the Trust Board, EGB and its subcommittees. Support the Chair of Trustees, CEO and Director of HR with recruiting new Trustees, and facilitating their induction. About You A great candidate for this job will be experienced in managing governance arrangements within a complex organisation, and servicing committees; specifically for a children's and young persons charity. You will also Have experience supporting Governors, Trustees and Executive teams. Be educated to degree standard or have substantial experience in a governance role. Have proven experience managing a network of stakeholders. Have a demonstrable understanding of charity governance best practices, as well as knowledge of charity reporting requirements. Demonstrate a high level of written and oral communication skills. Be confident using a suite of Microsoft Office packages. Show organisational skills that include determining your priorities to meet tight deadlines. Be able to work occasional weekends and evenings, and travel occasionally within the UK, as required.
