We are looking for a Business Strategy Manager to join our central team at SMG. In this role, you will gather and disseminate knowledge and information on the retail media and commerce advertising market and key industry trends, distilling them into content and actionable insights that guide the direction of our own business and that of our clients. You will enable SMG and our clients to make sense of this evolving landscape and solve complex business problems, improve business performance, and achieve strategic objectives. They will deliver consultancy and advice to clients on how to maximise their Retail Media proposition, whether it's guiding retailers to set up and optimise their own Retail Media Network (RMN) or helping advertisers to get the most out of their investments., P.s. we try really hard to make sure that we list only essential criteria here, BUT if you think you can do an amazing job, yet don't have every single thing on this list, we'd still love to hear from you. What you'll be doing We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like: This role has three core functions; 1/ Creation of thought leadership (75% of role)
* Develop the content and substance of our thought leadership. From internal education, strategic development of our business and that of our Clients and through to SMG-run marketing events and collaboration forums (including our annual Retail Media Summit), preparing insightful presentations and developing the framework for entertaining panel discussions, podcasts, white papers and interviews that our Leadership will present/run.
2/ Business strategy (acting as an internal 'management consultant' for SMG)
* Analyse global retail media market trends, providing internal insight and strategic recommendations.
* Track the competitive landscape, sharing news on market moves and their implications for SMG and our clients.
* Create and deliver trends presentations internally for two key audiences; 1) Directors and 2) All employees, to ensure everyone is supplied with relevant information on our market.
3/ Supporting the delivery of consultancy projects.
* Support the development of consultancy projects and RFPs for new business prospects, working with other Axis experts as requirement.
* Provide external market reporting and insight that can be shared with clients at QBRs, leveraging this information to guide and develop our capabilities and roadmaps for our Retail Media Networks and advertiser clients.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse, and interpret data and information to develop actionable insights and recommendations.
* Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Proactive approach with the ability to 'opportunity spot' without always being directed.
* Experience within the Marketing, Advertising or Retail Media industry experience is desired, ideally from a PR or marketing background. We are also interested in candidates with management consultancy experience with the right aptitude to quickly learn about our industry.
Salary: £43,000+ per annum, depending on experience plus a 10% bonus scheme
