Main duties of the job
As a senior employee of the Trust, you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate excellence in patient care
* Have oversight of all team activity during that clinical session and provide support to other registered and non-registered clinical practitioners when needed
* Ability to work effectively in a team & with colleagues from a wide range of professional and organisational backgrounds
* Sustain and develop teaching and training
* Regular participation in departmental and directorate meetings
* Conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust's service plans
* Participate proactively in GIM on call with medical consultant colleagues on a rota basis

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent.
* MRCP or equivalent.
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* Higher degree (e.g. MD or PhD).
Experience
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required to gain UK CCT in General Medicine and appropriate specialty.
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of medical problems.
* Ability to function as independent operator in relevant procedures.
* An understanding of the requirements of Clinical Governance and Audit.
