Next Stage are a leading Learning Disability Care Provider based across Bolton. We support Adults to live fulfilled and independent lives. We are constantly described as a "family-friendly" service that genuinely cares about the lives of those they care and support. We provide care within peoples homes and across our supporting living places.
We are currently recruiting for a number of Support Workers. We have both Part Time and Full Time positions available.
The position will require you.

* To have comprehensive knowledge of the assessed needs of each person we support and provide appropriate support as defined in support plans and risk assessments that are person-centred and maintained by you as a live document which is consistently reviewed on an ongoing basis.
* To work alongside the people we support when developing person-centred plans that enable them to achieve their goals and positive outcomes. • To encourage the people we support to contribute to decisions regarding their care, support, and activities.
* To empower the people we support by promoting their rights, interests and decision making whilst protecting them from danger. • To encourage the people we support’s participation in a variety of activities and experiences within their homes and communities which are appropriate to their needs, interests, and goals as per their support plans.
* To support the people we support in maintaining the safety and cleanliness of their residences and to direct them to the relevant departments regarding questions or issues with their tenancies.
* To promote a healthy lifestyle including offering support regarding nutrition, exercise, and health. • To develop positive and trusting relationships with the people we support which promote wellbeing.
* To maintain professional boundaries at all times.
* To maintain confidentiality at all times.
* To work as a team to monitor the activities and behaviours of the people we support, including changing needs and working with other key professionals.
* To inform the Senior Support Worker or Team Leader on-call of any significant changes to behaviour, needs or circumstances. To support the Senior Support Worker or Team Leader by liaising with outside agencies including GPs, social workers etc on behalf of our service user group.
* To develop effective relationships with the key stakeholders in the business, including employees, people we support, the family and friends of the people we support, the local community, the local healthcare facilities, GP’s, and suppliers.
* To undertake key-worker responsibilities that are person-centred to the person we support and are inclusive of; ensuring paperwork is completed and reviewed on a regular basis, and co-ordinating and attending all professional appointments.
* To take safe and appropriate action in the event of any unforeseen incidents and ensure these are reported immediately to the Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Operations Manager and Registered Manager.
* To work safely and responsibly to safeguard vulnerable people we support and to follow guidelines which are documented in risk management plans. • To understand and comply with the company’s safeguarding policy and procedures and to report all concerns immediately to the relevant parties.
* To understand the local safeguarding policy.
* To understand and comply with the company’s whistleblowing policy in the event of any abuse or neglect occurring within the home to staff and service users alike.
* To contribute to the safe administration of petty cash and monies belonging to the people we support, and to provide evidence of expenditure in line with company policies.
* To understand and comply with the company’s medication policy and assist the people we support where necessary in the safe administration of prescribed medication.
* To work at other service locations as directed when required.
* To partake in an agreed on-call system to ensure safe and effective cover for services over a 24-hour period.
* To work within good practice boundaries of the Code of Conduct for Health and Social Care Workers.
* To understand and comply with all regulatory requirements including Health and Safety, COSHH, RIDDOR, statutory legislation, national and local policies of codes of good practice, fire precautions and equality and diversity
* To accept guidance support and supervision from senior colleagues.
* To use all IT systems appropriately and in line with company policy.
* To maintain and update knowledge and skills within the parameters of your role by participating in learning and development opportunities.
Requirements
For the senior role we require you to have 12 months experience and be competent across all areas and disciplines of the Care Certificate.
