Role Summary As Head of Quality, you will oversee all aspects of organizational quality management, ensuring compliance with AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 standards. You will manage the Quality Management System (QMS), quality control throughout the manufacturing process, and the testing and validation of products. Your role will also include managing process engineering, focusing on production process design, optimization, and tooling management. Leading a diverse team, you will develop quality management elements within the IFS ERP system and implement additional controls for both existing and new products. Responsibilities Team Leadership: Guide the Quality/Process Engineering team, fostering a culture of structured improvement. Performance Management: Oversee daily operations and team performance, ensuring alignment with quality objectives. Capability Development: Enhance the team’s quality management capabilities through training and development initiatives. Quality Controls: Implement robust quality controls in line with an Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) approach throughout the manufacturing process. New Product Introduction: Oversee the controlled introduction of new products and processes from a quality perspective. Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to business management systems, particularly regarding AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015. Documentation Management: Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), Control Plans, and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEAs). Audit Management: Coordinate all onsite third-party audits and manage supplier quality processes, including supplier audits. Customer Concerns: Address customer quality concerns using appropriate problem-solving tools (8D/PPS). Non-Conformance Management: Oversee the non-conformance process and ensure timely closure of issues. Reporting: Prepare monthly quality reports for the board of directors. Budget Management: Manage quality function spending and the budget process. Management Reviews: Chair management review meetings with the senior management team. Objective Setting: Establish and manage annual objectives and KPI targets for the quality team. Calibration Management: Oversee the calibration of all onsite equipment. Audit Schedule Management: Manage the schedule for annual external and internal audits. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in the quality management system, inspection methods, and laboratory testing methodologies. Key Skills & Experience Extensive experience in quality management within complex manufacturing environments. Proven experience in process engineering management. Familiarity with AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 certification processes. Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) requirements. Experience managing inspection and laboratory processes. Proficient in APQP methodologies, including PPAP and PSW. Strong understanding of Control Plans, PFMEAs, and time study methodologies. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Skilled in leading 8D/PPS activities and mentoring team members.
