General Manager – Medefine Education
Location: Remote/Hybrid (UK-based)
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum (depending on experience) + performance-based bonus
Job Type: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm)
Please note:
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in management or operations is required.
* No experience in teaching, tutoring, or education is required.
* Office days will vary depending on season but expect an average of 1~2 days per week.
* This is NOT a client-facing role. The General Manager will focus on leadership, strategy, and operations, without direct involvement in student or parent interactions, teaching, or tutoring.
* We currently do not offer visa sponsorship, but are in the process of applying for a permit. However, we cannot guarantee this will be successful.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled General Manager to oversee operations, manage a dynamic team, and drive the efficiency and scalability of our services. This is a senior management role requiring strategic thinking, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including doctors, tutors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
As General Manager, you will oversee the smooth running of Medefine Education’s daily operations, ensuring that students, parents, and tutors receive outstanding support through well-structured processes. You will lead a team of 20 part-time doctors, surgeons, and medical students, track student progress via internal systems, coordinate international events, and support the company’s growth objectives. You will also play a key role in staff recruitment, finance tracking, and high-level operational leadership.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
* Oversee the onboarding of 100+ students annually, ensuring efficient administrative processes.
* Track student progress using internal management systems, ensuring timely interventions and clear communication between tutors and support staff.
* Conduct regular check-ins with tutors, generate progress reports, and manage parent expectations.
* Develop and implement goal tracking and accountability systems to ensure KPIs are met.
* Work closely with the Managing Partner to implement strategic objectives and streamline operations.
* Support financial operations, including budget tracking, expense audits, and payment oversight in collaboration with finance personnel.
* Oversee contracts, legal compliance, and regulatory adherence for business processes.
* Continuously optimise workflows, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and monitor adherence.
Team and Leadership Management
* Lead and manage a team of 20 part-time tutors, ensuring performance monitoring and professional development.
* Oversee tutor recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
* Track tutor availability, monitor activity, and conduct performance reviews.
* Provide structured feedback and implement career progression initiatives for tutors.
* Delegate and manage activities carried out by a part-time administrative secretary.
* Ensure internal communication efficiency, including meeting schedules, team rotas, and agenda follow-ups.
Event and International Programme Management
* Oversee the planning and execution of international outreach events (remote support only, no travel required).
* Manage international school visits and short-term educational courses, ensuring smooth coordination for teams of 10–20 doctors.
Who We Are Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience
* Minimum of two years’ experience in management or operations.
* Strong team leadership skills, particularly in remote environments.
* Experience in event planning, project management, and business operations.
* Ability to track and drive performance metrics and accountability.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience in financial oversight, including budgeting and expense tracking.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in education or healthcare tutoring services is beneficial but not required.
* Familiarity with programme management.
* Experience with virtual software and technology such as ClickUp, Microsoft Office, and Calendly, are desirable but not required.
