About the role
The Hosting Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of 30+ infrastructure specialists located in the UK and Philippines. This role involves leading multiple technical teams, ensuring appropriate resource levels, and creating a positive and collaborative leadership environment.
You will be responsible for the hosting infrastructure platforms and services and will be instrumental to moving to a product-centric operating model, focused on delivering outcomes and value to the organisation and our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operational delivery of a hybrid hosting environment, including global public cloud providers and Cambridge-managed on-premises data centres.
• Lead and develop high performing technical teams in the UK and Philippines, cultivating a culture of collaboration, accountability and innovation.
• Ensuring compliance with best practices and contributing to broader strategy and planning as part of the infrastructure Leadership Team.
• Delivering technical resources to other parts of Technology and contributing to procurement activities for hardware, software, and service agreements.
• Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders within the Cambridge organisation and external partners.
• Delivery of the operational hosting environment in public cloud, on-premises data centres, and infrastructure SaaS providers.
• Implementation, monitoring, and oversight of appropriate governance in all settings to ensure availability, reliability, performance, efficiency, and supportability are always maintained.
• Leading the continued adoption of agile principles and practices across hosting operations.
• Driving efficiency through automation tools and processes.
About you
• Significant experience in delivering hosting services in a diverse and regulated organisation.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
• Experience in data centres, virtualisation, storage, monitoring, cloud computing, and operating systems (Windows and Linux).
• Technical expertise in Infrastructure as Code automation tools and best practice.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
• Strategic thinking and a combination of strong technical skills and business acumen.
• Strong understanding of product-centric operating models and agile methodologies.
