Assistant Accountant Bamber Bridge, Preston Maternity cover – 18 months The Company: ScanTech Offshore Ltd provide an impressive range of rental equipment, including air compressors, steam generators and rig cooling services, as well as designing, installing and commissioning bespoke heat suppression safety systems. The Role: The role of the Assistant Accountant will be to ensure the underlying financial records are accurate and reported to senior management and group within agreed timescales. They will also be responsible for the timely production of period end reporting and supporting the audit process, as well as maintaining the fixed asset register and supporting preparation of budgets and forecasts. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts for the companies within the Scantech Group including comparison of actual costs to budget and forecast. Preparation of month end journals including accruals, prepayments & fixed asset depreciation. Maintain fixed asset register including comparison to budget and prepare reports for Group and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Upload key data and complete all forms to be filled in for month end reporting to the Group via Cognos system. Assist with completion of interim and year end results for the Scantech Group to PLC. Assist with preparation of the taxation pack and also with the preparation of the annual PSA data and P11D forms. Completion of Government statistical returns. Assist with preparation of the Statutory accounts for Scantech Offshore Ltd and in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts. Assist in preparation of schedules and information as requested by the Auditors. You will also be required to complete ad-hoc project work as requested by the Senior Management Accountant and the Financial controller. Qualifications/Skills/Experience required: Can be qualified by experience but AAT qualified or working towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA would be preferred. Proficient Excel skills (VLookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables). ERP/IFS knowledge ideal but not essential You will need excellent attention to detail with good communication skills and good time management.
