Title: Interim Head of ALM
Location: Remote
Job type: Immediate start, interim inside IR35, initial 6 months duration
Gresham Hunt are representing a leading Building Society in their search fro an experienced Treasury professional to lead their Asset and Liability Management (ALM) function for an initial 6 month period. This role involves advising stakeholders on best practices, enhancing risk and regulatory frameworks, and ensuring effective management of balance sheet risks. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions and with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee monitoring, management, and reporting of balance sheet risks (liquidity, interest rate, capital).
* Develop and manage regulatory documents (ILAAP, ICAAP, Recovery Plan) and stress testing models.
* Enhance ALM processes, policies, and reporting for improved risk management and efficiency.
* Manage ALCO reporting, including agenda planning, action tracking, and document distribution.
* Management for one direct report (Treasury Middle Office Analyst)
* Serve as Treasury Risk Champion, maintaining the risk register and supporting audits.
* Provide subject matter expertise on ALM regulations and lead training initiatives.
Requirements:
* Professional accounting or treasury qualification.
* Expertise in ALM regulatory requirements and stress testing in financial services.
* Proven experience improving ALM functions and implementing best practices.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience producing regulatory documents and engaging with regulators.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and managing large datasets.
* Collaborative, self-motivated and adaptable under pressure.
Desirable
* Knowledge of ALM systems (e.g., ALMIS) and transformation processes.
* Experience with building society operations and Basel 3.1 requirements.
* Leadership and team development experience.
