Then we may have the opportunity for you We are currently working with a lovely SEN Secondary School in the Cosham area who need a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team. This school caters for pupils with Special Educational Needs and has a focus on providing a nurturing environment that enables the pupils to engage successfully in all aspects of learning. Many of the children have ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and struggle with staying focused on their learning. The school are looking for someone who has a calm and understanding approach and who can find humour in situations. Role of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Supporting the class Teacher (4-8 pupils per class) Working on a 1:1 basis with some small group work ensuring pupils stay on track with the curriculum Supporting with outdoor day trips and activity days Embrace all aspects of the school’s visions and core values Working with pupils with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviours Full-time 8:30am to 3:30pm Pay: £83.33 - £95 per day. The ideal candidate will: Have lots of patience, be proactive and resilient - this role can be challenging, but it is very rewarding Experience working within a SEN school (not essential) A strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with pupils Excellent communication and interpersonal skills To work with GSL Education as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you should: Have the right to work in the UK.
