British Gymnastics has the following permanent full-time post: Coach Developer - World Class Programmes 37 hours per week Salary range £37,299.00 to £39,371.00 per annum (dependent upon experience) 39 days annual leave (including Bank Holiday and Company days) 2 wellbeing days a year weekly exercise and wellbeing hours This is a home-based role with national travel as required Role Summary: Fundamental to the development of gymnastics is the development of Coaches. The purpose of this role is to deliver British Gymnastics’ approach to coach learning and development practice in performance and high-performance environments, specifically across recognised world-class programme funded Olympic disciplines, aligned with the UK wide strategic approach for gymnastics coach development and wider learning and development strategic plan. Specifically the role will; • Support performance and high-performance coaches with their coaching practice, where coaching happens beyond formal education provision for these environments • Bring coaches together to generate ideas around real-life problems, challenges and opportunities • Gather insight to inform current and future coach support interventions and interactions to help ensure British Gymnastics support of coaches evolves and is based on community and coach needs, support culture and quality to develop and thrive across the community • Deliver coach support and development for identified performance and high-performance coaches, helping them reach their personal and professional goals, in turn supporting athletes to achieve their potential. • Manage a pool of contracted for service coach development professionals to offer and match bespoke support • Support the identification, development, retention and succession planning of coaches working in high- performance environments, specifically National and Head National Coaches. Please refer to the ROLE PROFILE for Full Details The main responsibilities of the role are: Situated support of coaches; Working with internal and external colleagues and partners to identify and provide appropriate support in performance and high-performance environments across Olympic disciplines. Building trusting, developmental relationships with coaches Developing, delivering and sustaining continuous personal and professional development; Build relationships with clubs and other providers across the UK to understand emergent needs and support coaches though bespoke just-in-time interactions and just-in-case interventions. Support the development of coaching and mentoring skills; with people across the community to help embed a culture of coaching across gymnastics Culture and coaching standards quality development and recognition; bringing communities of coaches together within and across clubs and other gymnastics coaching environments Being visible across the community; to listen and establish trends and understand community needs The Person Applicants will need to demonstrate: • They hold up-to-date experience of supporting sports coaches in performance and high-performance environments, not limited to gymnastics. • Understanding strategy; with the ability to work as part of a team to ensure corporate goals are translated into both strategic and operational plans. • Understanding analytics; for collating and interpreting data, using insight to support actions, plans and reports. • Project and programme management. • People and workflow management. • Budgeting and financial planning/ management. • An understanding of coach development processes and practices. • Learning and development frameworks and platforms. • A commitment to developing knowledge of gymnastics, coaching programmes, skills and practice. • A commitment to understand quality and assurance systems and processes • Demonstrate a methodical and meticulous approach to their work in line with the CIMSPA National Standard for Coach Developers, balancing the need for a solid and consistent rolling programme that supports the needs of all communities. • Leadership and critical relationship management. • Ability to analyse and resolve issues/ problems as they arrive using initiative. • Able to communicate regularly, professionally and succinctly with a range of internal and external stakeholders. • Lead meetings, share plans and reports, provide updates and regular communications and feedback to colleagues, in a professional and succinct manner.
