Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the Cornwall area. These roles will involve working locally in the South-West area, providing Phlebotomy and Healthcare Research services. To be successful in this role, you MUST have at least 1 year's experience in drawing blood and proof of competency as a phlebotomist. This is an established programme that is looking for new candidates as it moves into its next phase. Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker Location: Cornwall Hours: 2-3 days per week; shift patterns vary Duration: Ongoing Essential skills: Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months Proof of competency Driving ability would be very beneficial due to the sites being mobile. We are looking for experienced phlebotomists who must also have HCA experience to work at least 2-3 days per week in a 7-day service. These will be long days working between 7.45 am – 6.15 pm on weekdays, Saturday 8.45 am – 5.15 pm, and Sunday hours being 10.45 am – 4.15 pm. This position is available from October. Some of the areas we expect this to cover in the next few months include St Austell, Truro, Falmouth, Redruth, Penzance, and Liskeard. These will be mobile sites, moving around regularly every 4-5 weeks, so it would be very beneficial if you could drive and work at different sites. These positions are available from October, and the pay rate for this role will be up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate) with weekend enhancements. Main responsibilities of this phlebotomy vacancy: Complete POCT cholesterol checks on all participants. These include height, weight, and waist measurements, capturing heart rate and blood pressure checks, and inputting result data onto the system. Draw two blood samples for each participant, labelling and storing them correctly. Check the participant's welfare throughout the appointment, escalating any issues to the nurse in charge as required. Offer signposting, advice, and guidance to participants as needed. Prepare boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier at the end of every shift.
