The job itself
A vacancy has arisen for a Construction Assistant within the Structures Team, which forms part of the Civil Engineering Services section, based at County Hall, Beverley. You will be part of an engineering team which manages the maintenance, inspection, assessment and replacement of the Councils highway structures which include listed masonry arches, complex mechanical moving bridges, retaining walls, culverts and footbridges.
We seek a motivated person with a genuine interest in engineering, specifically structures related. You will be trained to carry out bridge inspections and assessments. You will gain experience in designing and delivering maintenance schemes, surveying, procurement, contract administration and site supervision.
You will be given the opportunity to study and gain a relevant engineering/construction related qualification.
