£14.10 per hour + Benefits
A range of shift patterns available 3/4/5/6 days per week including weekend working (5 hours per day)
We have some exciting opportunities to join our team in based in Aberdeen. You’ll be part of our House Keeping team who work hard to provide a high-quality service within one of Transport’s flagship contracts NorthLink Ferries. As the Cleaning Operative, you will ensure a high level of cleanliness of the vessels, terminal buildings, and other port facilities at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Cabin Cleaning:
* Thoroughly clean and sanitise guest cabins, including making beds, changing linens and towels, vacuuming, dusting, and replenishing amenities.
* Ensure all fixtures and fittings are clean and in good working order.
* Report any maintenance issues or damages to the Cleaning Supervisor.
Public Area Cleaning:
* Clean and maintain public areas such as corridors, lounges, toilets and stairways.
* Cleaning and maintain cleanliness of the terminal buildings and office areas.
* Vacuum, mop, sweep, and polish surfaces as required.
* Empty waste bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
Laundry Duties (if required):
* Assist with laundry duties, including sorting bedding and towels.
Inventory Management:
* Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
* Report low stock levels to the Cleaning Supervisor.
Adherence to Standards:
* Follow all company policies and procedures regarding cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
* Adhere to sanitation guidelines and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
* Follow safety procedures in case of spills.
Passenger Interaction:
* Provide friendly and courteous service to passengers.
* Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Teamwork:
* Work effectively as part of a team to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
* Assist other housekeeping staff as needed.
* Attend team meetings
Training:
* Ensure all Serco Essentials and E -learning is completed and up to date.
Desired Experience
* Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company standards.
