Security Engineer We are looking for a Security Engineer to join our Security Operations and Cyber Risk Team which sits within the Technology Department. They will be part of a small team with a focus on security operations, improving, documenting and automating security processes. Additionally, they will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the security technology stack to stay ahead of the constantly evolving threat landscape. Who are we? The role Respond to and resolve security incidents in collaboration with the external SOC, wider security, and engineering teams, applying lessons learned to continuously improve processes and enhance incident response capabilities. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of security documentation, policies, and best practices. Manage and optimise the Security Tech Stack, including SIEM, EDR, and SOAR. Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of security tools and driving improvements and enhancements to strengthen overall security capabilities for a cloud-first environment. Stay informed of the latest threat intelligence, attack techniques, and trends, and apply this knowledge to proactively improve the organisation's security posture. Identify and implement automation solutions for Incident Response and other security tasks, leveraging technologies such as SOAR to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce response times. Conduct due diligence and manage third-party security risks by evaluating vendor security postures, ensuring compliance with standards, and continuously monitoring performance to mitigate potential threats. Identify opportunities to strengthen Data Loss Prevention (DLP) processes by analysing data flows, user behaviour etc., and proposing targeted solutions to better safeguard sensitive information across the organisation. Take part in raising awareness and promoting a security-conscious culture by providing security guidance, training, and ongoing support to staff members to foster a proactive security mindset. What we’re looking for Experience with hands-on involvement in incident detection, response, and mitigation. Experiencing with defining, documenting and constantly improving Security Documentation, Policies, Processes and Playbooks. Experience with automation of security processes, including SOAR tools, to streamline operations, reduce response times, and increase operational efficiency. Knowledge of third-party risk management processes and evaluating vendor security. Ability to work collaboratively within teams and external SOC. Experience with a modern security stack, including hands-on experience of SIEM & SOAR technologies, EDR & CASB solutions. This has to be within a fast paced security operations environment Proficient technical security understanding of Cloud platforms such as AWS and the following tooling platforms - CSPM, CIEM & DSPM Experience of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, NIST CSF, ISO27k and PCI and their correct application to businesses At Funding Circle we are committed to building diverse teams so please apply even if your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the requirements.
