The CAMHS directorate in NorthYorkshire, York, and Selby locality of TEWV is comprised of the two YorkCommunity CAMHS teams based at Orca House the Selby team based at Worsley Court,the Harrogate Team based at Dragon Parade, the Scarborough Team based at LakeHouse and the Northallerton Team based at North Moor House.
This post will provide input intoScarborough, Whitby and Ryedale part of the NY and Y service. Specifically,this service is commissioned by the North Yorkshire CCG
It has a Single Point of Access servicestaffed by an experienced staff team who triage and provide a telephoneconsultation service to families and referrers. The SPA responds to allreferrals and help young people and their families with the process ofnavigating through the options to find a service that meets their needs. Theservice works with a model of brief intervention to empower young people andtheir families in achieving good mental health and well-being. Staff job plansare designed to deliver services described in the TEWV Clinical Pathways, inorder to provide high quality evidence-based care.
Thispost arises because the current post holder is moving into higher training.
Main duties of the job
Thisis an 8 PA post providing Speciality Grade Doctor input to the ScarboroughCAMHS (with regular consultant supervision from Dr McMahon locum consultant andadditional supervision for ADHD cases from Dr Alcorn). The post holder will contribute to the teamsperformance objectives and, in terms of clinical work, is expected to achievean average of 12 direct patient contacts per week, representing a mix of newand review appointments, including some emergency assessments undersupervision. The post holder is expected to hold a mixed caseload of both ADHDand generic CAMHS cases. The post holderwill be responsible, alongside consultant colleagues, for delivery of mentalhealth services up to a young persons 18th birthday for the population of Scarborough,Whitby and Ryedale. Although we have a clinic model, there will be anoccasional requirement to perform domiciliary and community visits with thesupport of other team members.The postholder joining the team will be expected to work in accordance with GMCguidance for working in multiagency and multidisciplinary teams and will beexpected to work flexibly.
The postwill follow a 6.5 PA (Direct Clinical Care): 1.5 PA (Supporting ProfessionalActivities) job plan. This will allow the post holder to develop a protectedday each week to pursue CESR and CPD activities. Active encouragement will begiven to pursuing CESR and duties of the postholder can be adapted over time to ensure a wide range of appropriate experiences

Experience
* At least 4 years postgraduate experience, including at least 2 years in a core psychiatry training programme in UK or abroad.
* Able to demonstrate good clinical skills and knowledge in psychiatry with bio-psycho-social perspective
* Able to demonstrate good clinical communication skills showing empathy and sensitivity
* Person-centred and recovery focused
* Postgraduate experience in the relevant specialty

* Approved under S12(2) MHA OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register in the relevant specialty.
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
