We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team and fill a variety of vacant roles within the Ophthalmology Department. The West of England Eye Unit is a busy department, that is constantly evolving to adapt to our growing number of patients. We're looking for someone who is motivated and is willing to get hands-on with a wide range of responsibilities.
In this fast-paced environment, you will be an integral part of our team, alternating between working at reception and within the booking office. You will be the first point of contact for many patients, and your role will involve answering telephones, handling appointment requests, and ensuring that patient information is processed efficiently and accurately.
Key responsibilities include:
* Meeting and Greeting Patients at Reception: Offering a warm and welcoming first impression, providing exceptional customer service to patients as they arrive, and ensuring a smooth check-in process.
* Answering Telephones and Managing Appointment Requests: Responding promptly and professionally to phone inquiries, addressing appointment requests, providing information, and assisting patients with any queries or concerns they may have.
* Booking Patient Appointments: Accurately booking patient appointments from the waiting lists, ensuring all details are correct, and scheduling appointments in a timely manner.
* Using the NHS E-Referral Service: Uploading referral letters into EPIC via the NHS E-Referral Service, ensuring all patient documents are correctly processed.

We are looking for highly efficient and professional individuals to join our team in the Ophthalmology Department within our Surgical Services Division. As a vital member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for ensuring that patient appointments are scheduled accurately, information is kept up-to-date, and all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
In this role, you will need to demonstrate a high level of adaptability, reliability and the ability to multi-task along with being an excellent team player. You will be working alongside a diverse group of professionals, from medical staff to patients, and will play a crucial role in facilitating smooth communication within the department. As the first point of contact for patients, empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential to provide a supportive and welcoming experience for everyone you interact with. Being able to prioritise and manage your time effectively will be essential in this fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
The role is both office based and patient facing therefore you will need to be flexible and adapt to the different environments.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, between Monday and Saturday, 08:00 - 17:00 covered by a rota.
