Are you a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter/Technician looking for a new challenge? Join a reputable company in the wastewater sector, where you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining and servicing essential infrastructure.
This role involves primarily site-based work, with occasional travel supported by a company van. If you have a strong background in mechanical engineering, plant maintenance, or metal fabrication, this position could be the perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct site visits to perform inspections and mechanical service/fitting work.
* Ensure all site work is completed to a high standard and resolve any arising issues professionally.
* Build and manage client relationships while on-site, acting as the face of the company.
* Prepare detailed site reports following the completion of work.
* Liaise with the Regional Field Manager and internal colleagues to address technical or site-specific challenges.
* Collaborate with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
* Take an active, hands-on role in job preparation and site work, embracing all aspects of the position.
Candidate Profile:
* Qualifications: Completed an apprenticeship or achieved a minimum NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
* Experience: At least four years in a relevant role, ideally with exposure to site-based work, M&E projects, or plant maintenance.
* Interpersonal Skills: Confident in working with diverse stakeholders, building rapport with clients and suppliers.
* Field Readiness: Either experienced in a field-based role or eager to transition into one.
* Health & Safety Awareness: Advocate for safe working practices at all times.
* Technical Skills:
* Ability to weld, with TIG welding experience preferred.
* Competence in interpreting mechanical engineering drawings.
* Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, customer-focused, reliable, and problem-solving with a proactive approach to ownership and initiative.
* Driving License: A clean driving license is essential.
