Fire Alarm Engineer

Role Overview: We are seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer with installation and reactive repairs experience. Our client offers further training to enhance your existing knowledge in the field.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts.
2. Respond to emergency callouts and carry out any remedial works as required.
3. Conduct asset verification.
4. Install replacement/additional equipment.
5. Participate in the on-call rota.
6. Conduct site surveys as required.
7. Train apprentices.
8. Act professionally and diligently, considering the client's needs.
9. Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems, Nurse Call, and Access Control in accordance with relevant British Standards.
10. Complete engineer service reports accurately.
11. Report deficiencies or deviations in systems.
12. Maintain emergency lighting systems and other associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers and AOVs.
13. Conduct regular van stock checks and coordinate with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department to maintain stock levels.
14. Prioritize health and safety, reporting any issues promptly.
15. Aim for a first-time fix where possible.
Skills/Qualifications:
1. Good understanding of the British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
2. FIA Level or equivalent.
3. At least 1 year of industry experience.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
6. Flexible approach to work with a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime and participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
7. A full UK Driving License.
8. Previous fire alarm experience and knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
9. FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
10. Understanding of BS5839, particularly part one and part six.
11. A good level of IT literacy.
12. Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations within the workplace.

1. Base salary of £30,000 - £38,000 per annum (40 hours a week) with opportunities for overtime, travel time, and out-of-hours retainer fees.
