Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery, this will be based at Royal Preston Hospital initially for a 12 month period, with a view to extend.
The unit treats the full range of general adult and paediatric plastic surgery conditions, including patients with major and minor burns. Microsurgical procedures are performed on elective and emergency patients. Day case surgery under both local and general anaesthetic is carried out.
Although this post is not recognised for training purposes, considerable “hands on” training is given in line with skills and experience.
Basic surgery training or equivalent is required.
The full range of general adult and paediatric plastic surgery including microsurgery and burns is performed.
Research is actively encouraged, and considerable hands-on training is given, with developmental opportunities available to develop your current skills.
There are weekly teaching meetings and monthly audit meetings. You will be expected to play a full part in departmental audit and clinical governance programmes.
You will receive the full support of the Trust and the Directorate to develop specialist areas of interest in line with Directorate business plans and he development of services generally within the Trust.
