Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our supportive team and facilitate effective communication for all.
Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team within a school, the successful candidate will provide SLT services for children aged 3-19 with SLCN, learning disabilities and/or complex needs.
The successful candidate will add to the current team within the school (which includes SLTs and SLTAs) and will work in partnership with children, young people, their families and the children's workforce.

Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will support universal best practice within the school as a whole, undertake assessments and deliver interventions directly and through others.
Depending on the skills, experience, and motivation of the candidate, the role may involve supervising junior SLTs and SLTAs.
Core Responsibilities
* To provide a speech and language therapy service to children, directly and through support to their families and the multi-disciplinary team.
* Provide speech, language, and communication assessments for pupils/prospective pupils in consultation with the multi-disciplinary team and other SLTs and SLTAs.
* Keep accurate records and provide written reports.
* Set targets for therapy and monitor progress.
* Provide intervention on an individual or group basis as required.
* Develop and demonstrate SLT programmes and groups for pupils.
* Hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.
* Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the planning, development, and delivery of an effective and efficient service.
* Participate in clinical supervision within the team via regular meetings, supervision, mentoring, and appraisals.
* Engage in continuing professional development and implementing service improvements and evidence-based practice.
* Support SLT student placements.
* Induction, supervision, and support of SLTAs and volunteers.
* Development of SLT services and training.
* The evaluation and monitoring of services to demonstrate impact and quality of services.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Degree or Masters.
* Registration with RCSLT and HCPC.
Experience
* Experience working with children who have complex needs, their families, and the Multi-agency team.
