Oak Hall has a fantastic opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our practice in the picturesque Romney Marsh area. We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate GP to work in our forward-looking, friendly practice. You will be part of a dynamic team that includes GPs, Advanced/ Nurse Practitioners,Pharmacists, Paramedic Practitioners, Nurses, and a supportive Admin team.
As a GP at Oak Hall, you will manage a busy and interesting clinical caseload, delivering the highest standard of care to both registered and temporary patients. Your responsibilities will include all duties reasonably expected of an NHS GP, in line with GMC standards.
We offer flexible full-time or part-time positions, with a competitive salary package that includes NHS Pension and Medical Indemnity Fees. Salary is dependent on your experience and position. Main duties of the job
1. Manage a diverse clinical caseload, offering high-quality, patient-centred care in a respectful, non-judgemental manner.
2. Conduct general practice consultations, including physical examinations, to identify or reduce health risks.
3. Perform telephone triage and face-to-face appointments, ensuring timely and effective patient care.
4. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and experience to optimise patient outcomes.
5. Participate in a share of on-call duties and administrative tasks, contributing to the smooth running of the practice.
6. Attend clinical meetings and engage in practice development, ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery.
7. Uphold GMC standards, prioritising patient care, maintaining professional competence, and recognising your limits.
8. Utilise excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear, effective interactions with patients and colleagues.
9. Encourage and support the development of special interests, with opportunities for teaching and mentorship.
10. Rare home visits ( we work with PCN HV team ), with a focus on in-practice patient care.

Situated in the historic town of New Romney, one of the original Cinque Ports, our practice is located in a beautifully converted Medieval Hall House on the High Street. We are a high-achieving GMS Practice with strong QoF results, proudly serving a patient population of over 5,800. Our dedicated team consists of 2 GPs, 2 Nurse Practitioners, skilled Nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomist, Pharmacists, and a knowledgeable and long-serving Administrative and Reception team. We utilise EMIS Web, Docman, and Ardens Manager to ensure streamlined and effective patient care.

Job responsibilities
11. Provide comprehensive medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, and additional services where appropriate.
12. Deliver high-quality clinical care while working autonomously as a GP, adhering to GMC standards and the GMS contract.
13. Manage a diverse caseload, including the assessment and treatment of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
14. Develop and implement care plans in consultation with patients, providing counselling and health education.
15. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous consultation notes using EMIS clinical systems, and manage prescriptions according to guidelines.
16. Lead the clinical team in day-to-day operations, providing support and guidance to both clinical and administrative staff.
17. Participate in clinical auditing, data collection, and service development to meet practice and patient needs.
18. Support the training of other healthcare professionals.
19. Engage with local and national healthcare initiatives to enhance and sustain service delivery.
20. Contribute to the management and improvement of practice processes, ensuring adherence to policies on confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.
21. Participate in routine clinics, on-call duties, and duty doctor rotas, while providing emergency cover as needed.
22. Promote and support a culture of continuous learning, attending meetings, and contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement, and QOF achievement.
23. Foster effective communication within the team and with patients, upholding equality, diversity, and patient confidentiality standards.
24. Engage in personal and professional development, including participating in annual appraisals, revalidation, and maintaining professional registration.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
25. Fully qualified General Practitioner with GMC registration.
26. Included in the General Practitioner Register.
27. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice.
28. Currently on a performers list and not suspended from the list or medical register.
Experience
Essential
29. Proficient in managing common medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies.
30. Ability to make appropriate referrals for further management.
Desirable
31. Experience working as a General Practitioner or Locum Practitioner.
32. Up-to-date understanding of modern primary care, including urgent care and community settings.
33. Knowledge of the NHS and its clinical environment.
34. Experience with EMIS is advantageous.
