We are seeking an experienced, motivated and dynamic clinical pharmacist with excellent communication and leadership skills to work in the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Directorates and Clinical Pharmacy teams within RWT. You will support in the provision and development of clinical and operational pharmaceutical services to our Heart and Lung Centre. This is a state-of-the-art, purpose built unit that opened in October 2004. It provides surgical and cardiological treatment of cardiac and lung disease to a population of over 1.3 million in and around the Black Country Our department prides itself in cross-sector working breaking down barriers, highlighted by a strong admission avoidance agenda. The pharmacy department has strong education links with universities and we actively encourage staff development. Many of our pharmacists are working on their Advanced Pharmacist Portfolios or pursuing postgraduate studies. The successful candidate will have experience of working within cardiac services and have a proven record of delivering effective change. Main duties of the job Will support the Principal Pharmacist for Cardiac Services to develop services and support the directorates Will provide an expert level of clinical pharmacy services to wards and departments caring for adult patients who present to the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Directorates Will lead specialist clinical pharmacy practice for cardiac services and be responsible for the delivery, development, evaluation, and co-ordination of clinical pharmacy services in line with the objectives of the division and the RWT pharmacy strategy. Is responsible for all aspects of medicines management to optimise patients' care involving the use and re-use of medication. The post holder will be encouraged to use the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework to support their development, with guidance from our Principal Pharmacist for Education and Training.
