The Role
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our cross-functional engineering teams in the mortgage business unit. As part of a team, you will collaborate with software engineers, quality engineers, and business systems analysts to contribute to the design, development, delivery, and support of our class-leading mortgage solution.
Your primary focus will be on strengthening the team's performance and ensuring the timely delivery of product features and technical initiatives in our mortgage solution. About You:
In terms of your experience, your attitude is everything, but we'd particularly love to see:
1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a software engineering role
2. Experience using C# and JavaScript (must have)
3. An analytical thinker with a logical approach to problem-solving and solutions
Advantageous skills:
1. Experience in: .net, Typescript, Angular, Docker
2. Degree level qualification in Computer Science / equivalent
3. Exposure to AWS environment
4. Modern Architecture Principles: Microservice, Event-driven and Service-oriented architectures
5. RESTful Design principles, Containerisation
6. Cloud Services: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
7. Scripting and Automation: PowerShell, Bash etc.
Technologies we work with:
1. Web Development: Angular, CSS/Bootstrap, REST APIs
2. Database: MS SQL Server or other RDBMS such as PostgreSQL
3. Testing: NUnit, MSUnit, Jest, Cypress, Nightwatch, Playwright
4. Security: Awareness of security practices for securing applications and data
5. Version Control Systems: Git, GitHub, TFS
What will you be doing?
1. Development and Coding
2. Contribute to designing and developing software components to defined quality standards
3. Address and resolve development or production issues promptly and professionally
4. Contribute to the sizing of technical development tasks
5. Report progress regularly, escalating matters as appropriate
6. Mentor and coach more junior members of the team
7. Conduct quality reviews of own deliverables and deliverables from peers
8. Stay current with the latest technologies and software engineering practices
9. Build knowledge of the mortgage industry, industry trends, and regulatory requirements
10. Collaborate closely with your team to achieve joint goals
11. Occasionally engage in discussions with clients regarding product matter
