Job Description
The Head of Supply Chain will:
* Lead and manage the entire supply chain operations supporting the Lancashire site including Procurement, Supply planning, Inventory, Warehouse/stores.
* Develop the team to create succession plans and build engagement resulting in a performance-driven function.
* Review the current supply chain and manufacturing operations to support the development and implementation of an effective supply chain strategy.
* Collaborate closely with Sales and Operations to foster a one-team approach delivering excellent customer service.
* Manage and monitor supplier performance, reducing risk and remaining competitive.
* Provide the business with a forecast on price and availability trends and their impact on future activities.
* Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.
* Oversee the use of ERP within the supply chain department (and champion in the wider business), ensure data integrity, and optimized use.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Supply Chain should have:
* A track record in a similar role within the manufacturing industry, and ideally a working knowledge of supporting an electro-mechanical product (spend will include metals, plastics, and electronics).
* Ability to manage and develop Procurement functions which should include:
o Supplier management/development.
o Sourcing/re-sourcing.
o Cost control/cost reduction.
o NPD - supporting VA/VE with early engagement.
* Awareness and control of inventory and supply planning.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, and be able to demonstrate how you built team capability.
* Ability to proactively contribute to the leadership team, building relationships across the functions.
* Ideally have developed/implemented an MRP/ERP system.
* Ideally CIPS (or working towards).
