2nd Line Engineer - Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Position Overview - MUST HAVE EXPERINCE WORKING FOR AN MSP!
As 2nd Line Engineer you are a specialist technician responsible for identifying and resolving
issues with client equipment and systems.
You apply engineering knowledge to real life problems that arise at client sites.
You need to be able to confidently diagnose the client’s problems and implement an appropriate solution to ensure the system or device is performing properly.
Essential Job Functions
* Troubleshoot – the main part of the role is to analyse and solve problems for clients.
* Log tickets – Where tickets aren’t already raised, you will be required to raise tickets as
and when you encounter issues on site.
* Maintain equipment – you are responsible for overseeing the maintenance of client IT
equipment and IT infrastructure.
* Documentation – Ensure once you have resolved a new issue, you create a document
and upload it on central repository.
* Create reports – creating reports to document and keep track of issues. You are
expected to log your time onto our ConnectWise system.
* Site Survey – Conduct site survey’s where a solution needs to be deployed
* Liaising with Service Desk – Ensure you liaise with Service Desk when visiting customer
sites and ensure they can see everything registering correctly on all internal portals
* Test machinery – field engineers are required to routinely test and inspect the
performance of IT equipment for quality as well as to ensure they meet compliance
standards.
* Install new technology – a significant part of the job will include installing new and
more advanced technology systems.
* Develop new systems – you must stay up to date with the latest industry trends and
developments so that you can provide improved systems and solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience with 2nd Line Support
* Experience working in a Managed Service Provider / IT Services
* Windows OS and Server
* M365
* Azure Active Directory
* Citrix
* Basic networking (DNS, OSPF, Routers etc)
