How we see the role:
Mission of the role:
To complete retrofit designs on all retrofit measures in compliance with PAS2035 standards. To review technical surveys and retrofit assessments, proposed works, products and installation methods to ensure proposed design is suitable and compliant.
Key tasks include
Management of design to ensure contract compliance with all work specifications and PAS2035/2030 standards.
To review and stay up to date with all existing building regulations relevant to the design works
To build and develop a robust top class internal design service across all work streams
To partake in client meetings and briefings, specifically with internal work force and external contractors
To work with the Retrofit Coordinator to ensure first class complaint delivery.
To provide constructive feedback to the surveying partners and installers on quality, improvements required.
Ensure CPD is kept up to date and relevant regular product training.
To ensure timely and effective business process via Protean/management systems to aid accurate data on jobs and workflow. (include internal systems instead)
Advising clients on schemes and projects and determine requirements.
Prepare design and specification information for the measures proposed, including requirements for all materials, products, processes and standards in sufficient detail for the installer(s) to work from, ensuring that all requirements of PAS 2035 are met.
Determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair.
Work with the Retrofit Coordinator to ensure the intended outcomes of the project are met.
Ensure that the Retrofit Coordinator and/or the resident client understand the key features of the design and how the measures should be installed and used.
Be on hand to advise the PAS accredited installers to ensure the quality of work is satisfactory to the PAS standards.
Do you have:
Qualified Architect with ARB membership or Architectural Technologist with CIAT or CIOB
Previous experience working on PAS2030, and PAS2035 is essential
Previous experience working on retrofit projects in the social housing sector would also be highly desirable
Minimum of 2 years' experience within design environment preferred
Experience with using Autodesk or AutoCAD
Experience thermal bridging calculations, drawing up details for projects.
Nice to have:
Demonstrable experience working with tier 1-3 contractors
You must be proficient in Revit or Sketch up - nice to have
Understanding of energy efficiency measures within the differing funding streams.
