Director of Development - 6 month contract - £700 p/d Inside IR35 Overall Purpose To secure desirable development opportunities to deliver HA's commitment to expand the availability of affordable homes to the community in a safe and sustainable way. Develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships to ensure that HA secures opportunities to contribute to regional and national development priorities. To be responsible for capital budgets exceeding £10m, ensuring that quality of design is at the forefront of all development activities Principal Accountabilities Leadership Demonstrate inspirational leadership and ensures that all Directorate performance targets are exceeded with a newly established Team. Undertake the role of Strategic Lead on Development of New Homes & Regeneration, ensuring that the Development Programme delivers within Business Plan resources and meets the objectives of the Development Strategy. Models and promote behaviours consistent with HA's values and standards. Create a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement, with Teams working across traditional boundaries to achieve stronger outcomes and standards. Champion the effective use of modern and low carbon methods of construction, and digital technology to deliver high quality, sustainable homes, with particular emphasis on energy efficiency and future maintenance costs. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, national standards and outcomes, alongside regulatory requirements, particularly those relating to the acquisition of sites and development of homes. Ensure the importance of accurate asset and service performance information is embedded in the Directorate culture, providing suitable systems for the storage and reporting of such data and information and ensuring compliance with the use of these systems. Work with partners and agencies to expand investment opportunities and oversee the preparation of bids and tenders for submission on behalf of HA.
