WHO ARE WE?
PLUS is providing summer English courses for young overseas students aged between 10 and 17 years old. As one of the largest summer school providers in the UK, we take pride in being market leaders and are fully accredited by The British Council.

The Role
Course Directors/Center Manager are responsible for the overall delivery of a high-quality academic programme. With excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, the successful candidate will have considerable residential summer school experience and a courteous and professional manner.
Main Duties:
1. Overall management of the academic programme and the teaching team, ensuring that the highest standards of teaching are delivered to allow students to derive the maximum benefit from their course.
2. To ensure that lessons and activities are integrated, following our syllabus and guidelines.
3. To be familiar with the inspection criteria of the British Council, and company requirements and to ensure that those criteria are met.
4. Co-operate with any British Council Inspection procedures.
5. To have knowledge and understanding of relevant company handbooks and procedural documents.
6. To have a good understanding of emergency & evacuation procedures.
7. To behave in a courteous and professional manner with colleagues and clients at all times and to respect any such relevant codes of conduct.
8. To adhere to company dress and behaviour codes.
9. To assist with any other administrative duties as may be reasonably required by the Academic Management team at Head Office.
10. Reside on campus for the duration of employment and to form part of the supervisory staff to student ratio of 1:15 inclusive of overnight supervision.
Child Safeguarding, Protection and Welfare
1. To promote and safeguard the welfare of all students at all times and to monitor their wellbeing, actively seeking to resolve any issues or areas of concern.
2. To be fully conversant with and to adhere to Health & Safety and Child Safeguarding guidelines as per Government legislation, the British Council Handbook and PLUS policies and procedures.
3. To be familiar with risk assessment documentation, both onsite and offsite, updating records where necessary.
Qualifications
BA Degree and DELTA/Trinity Diploma or equivalent such as MA in Applied Linguistics TEFL/EFL, including observed teaching or international equivalent.
Experience and Skills
1. Previous management experience in a residential summer course.
2. Minimum 4 years of teaching experience.
3. Experience of working with young Learners.
4. Familiar with a Task-Based Learning approach.
5. Ability to work under pressure.
6. Strong communication skills.
7. Ability to positively lead and motivate the academic team.
8. Some previous management experiences.
All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
Statutory holiday pay is included. Full board and/or accommodation provided for residential staff, if required.
