We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Christchurch location, you will be responsible for the introduction of new products to production, support current production lines and ensure services are always available to production.

Your Challenge
Assist in Introduction of new products to production:
1. Actively work with Engineering on all DFM/testability/manufacturability issues and design of new products
2. Develop new manufacturing processes and build guides
3. Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures
4. Layout manufacturing cells with all tooling and services
Support Current Production:
1. Suggest and implement improvements to current production processes
2. Investigate and solve manufacturing problems
3. Investigate Quality problems caused by build and external suppliers
4. Identify new production methods and tooling
5. Recommend improvements to existing methods of manufacture
6. Update Existing Build guides in line with improvements and Engineering changes
7. Investigate faults identified by other departments and recommend action to prevent reoccurrence
8. Assist in factory layout moves
9. Lean tools knowledge and experience (5S, continuous improvement, etc)
Ensure services available to production at all times:
1. Ensure equipment is available and operational
2. Ensure equipment is safe to use
What You Bring
1. HNC/Degree Engineering discipline (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electronics)
2. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role in medium/high volume Electro-mechanical manufacturing environment (Less experience/other industry considered)
3. Awareness of modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques
4. Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, Solidworks)
5. Ideally some hands-on experience
6. Basic Knowledge of material processing processes
7. Basic Pneumatics/Hydraulics knowledge
8. Steady under pressure
9. Organised
10. Team player – Can work as part of a dynamic team.
11. Good communication skills with all levels of staff across all departments
