The A Side: A Day in The Life Your role: As the Head Of Audience Development you’ll be responsible for the leading & inspiring the Audience Development team who are responsible for engaging and retaining audiences across multiple digital touch points for some of the biggest artists in music. Reporting into the Senior Director, Audience & Marketing, you’ll lead setting the vision for the department, helping your team to deliver best in class campaigns on budget & to deadline. The role will require you to nurture and develop the audience development team, while fostering strong collaboration with other departments and providing strategic guidance to the executive team at UMR. The B Side: Skills & Experience Here you’ll get to: Lead and inspire the audience development team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement – while helping the team to manage their project workloads & acting as an escalation point for project guidance and challenges. Define & deliver the audience development strategy for the label that aligns with the wider business goals, create a clear framework on how the audience team should identify key audiences & plan initiatives to reach them. Be part of the project team on key artist campaigns providing support and strategic guidance to ensure we’re delivering best in class audience development campaigns. Collaborate closely with department leaders across the label to ensure the team are delivering comprehensive campaigns that leverage the skills and expertise of each department. Work closely with our data & insight team to set frameworks to monitor & report on the effectiveness of long-term audience development strategies. Provide budget guidance to the Audience Development team & finance team on social retainers, creator campaigns, web builds & freelancers ensuring we’re getting value for money. You will set the standard for creative short form content whether that via creator partnerships, our in-house studio or via freelancers – you will ensuring internal teams are across the latest best practices and platform nuances. Own our relationships with established and emerging social & community platforms – sharing & encouraging team to experiment with latest platform developments as well as pitching where relevant for support or deeper partnerships on projects. Work alongside the head of Direct to Fan to develop CRM strategies & tactics that reward fan loyalty, deepen connections, and elevate the D2C experience, ensuring fans feel valued and engaged. Monitor and guide the teams YouTube strategies across both content and optimisation – ensuring that they are delivering on key metrics and provide value for money. Provide thought leadership internally and to artist and managers advocating for the importance of audience growth, fan loyalty, and insight-driven decision-making. Person Specification Essential Passionate leader with experience in or demonstrable knowledge of how develop and run creative and collaborative teams. Thoughtful thinking, curious about the future trends of the industry and able to offer an informed opinion & guidance to the business. Extensive experience or knowledge in the fundamentals of marketing & audience development principles either in a music label, management or digital agency. Confident and persuasive communicator who can work with people at all levels and can tailor their style to the audience Astute decision maker able to balance the risk and reward with the information presented to them. Committed project manager who can organise, prioritise, work under pressure and problem solve to see an idea through to completion. Creative thinker who’s able to work independently or as a team to turn an idea into an executable campaign. Collaborative team player, able to work across multiple departments & with external partners to deliver on business and campaign goals. Deep understanding of digital & social marketing principles – able to turn theory into practice. Passionate about music & the wider industry with an interest in the digital marketing landscape. Desirable Experience in data and insight tools both music industry and social platforms. Confident using project management software Monday.com or managing projects via Google sheets. Experience delivering presentations via Powerpoint/Canva/Google slides.
