Theatre Practitioner/ ODP - Anaesthetics - Award Winning Private Hospital - Bath - Up to £46,000 - Full Time
An award winning healthcare provider in Somerset has opportunities for Anaesthetic Theatre Nurse Practitioners or ODPs to join our Theatre team. They are looking for motivated and passionate individuals to work flexibly as part of our hospital's clinical theatre team providing the highest standards of professional care to patients and to make a positive contribution towards the team's pursuit of excellence.
Theatre Practitioner/ ODP Anaesthetics Responsibilities:
1. To provide and maintain the highest possible standard of clinical care for the patients.
2. To ensure all documentation is completed accurately, which includes giving and receiving patient centred handovers.
3. To ensure 100% compliance with all stages of the WHO check.
4. To ensure timely reporting of faulty or broken equipment using the department reporting system.
5. To work in line with hospital policies, procedures and SOP's including the Safe Management and storage of Medicines.
6. To keep up to date with department competency signoff on an annual basis.
7. To ensure that monthly checks are completed and signed off and that the Anaesthetic trolleys and rooms are clean and stocked ready for the next session.
8. To maintain cleanliness and IPC within the operating department, and to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
9. Liaise with Lead nurse in agreeing how identified training and development needs are met.
10. Develop clinical knowledge and professional skills through relevant training.
11. Follow guidelines on maintaining patient's notes and documents, ensuring legibility and accuracy of nursing records, being aware of the legal implications of these documents.
12. Ensure good communication exists between all healthcare professionals caring for patients and to promote harmonious working relationships and safe working practices.
13. To ensure the safe care and custody of patient's property and valuables in line with the agreed procedure.
14. To assist in carrying out audit as required in relation to the service.
15. To complete Mandatory training as and when required.
16. To take part in the on-call and weekend rotas.
Theatre Practitioner - ODP - Anaesthetics Requirements:
1. English language proficiency to IELTS 7.0
2. Experience in a similar role
3. RN/RGN/ODP equivalent
4. Demonstrable record of CPD
5. Knowledge of current issues in professional practice with particular relevance to the Unit
6. Knowledge of standards of professional practice in the wider healthcare context
7. NMC or HCPC registered
