We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
The successful applicant will join a structured internal MDT, working as a collaborative partnership with other clinical professionals, Operational Managers, external MDTs and most importantly the people we support.
The role will be multi-faceted, incorporating training and targeted assessment based projects. The role will be split between delivering targeted training to both new and current staff members in our dedicated training centre, providing comprehensive training on both key foundation knowledge and targeted areas of development. The second part of the role will be served based, with the Successful applicant working in conjunction with our Clinical Team and Operational Managers to provide targeted outcome based intensive programs. As part of this, there will be a requirement to complete and contribute to comprehensive individualized assessments and person-centered outcome-based support, focusing primarily on effective communication.
We see the role as being Hands On in the sense that you will be leading out Total Communication approach, embedding effective communication strategies for both the people we support and the staff team. The role will also include advising on best practice for all aspects of SALT, inclusive of delivering specific, targeted assessments for people with swallowing needs, completing relevant assessments and ensuring supporting staff receive appropriate training to work in line with the guidelines outlined.
Responsibilities
To undertake assessment and formulate person-centered, outcome orientated support plans for service users.
To devise and deliver a effective delivery program, with the potential to work on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
To undertake specific communication assessments, following through with an effective care planning program and appropriate staff training.
To provide conclusive oversight of SALT Profiles, working in collaboration with external SALT professionals.
To proactively manage a caseload, providing targeted support on a priority basis.
To provide targeted support, on an individual need basis.
To work in conjunction with both Clinical and Operational Teams to provide in-service support.
To deliver relevant training as required by the Learning and Development Team, Clinical and operational teams.
To comply with all mandatory health and safety requirements and undertake essential training.
To provide targeted “hands on support” in line with SALT assessments and support delivery.
To role model and demonstrate effective best practice.
To work collaboratively as part of our internal MDT.
Essential:
BSc (Hons) Degree or equivalent recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
Registered Member of the Health, Care and Professions Council
Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

Experience
This role can be suitable for a newly qualified SALT.
Experience within Learning Disability or Mental Health support would be beneficial but not essential.

Strong organisational skills to manage caseloads effectively.
