Job Overview
We are seeking a part-time Deputy Manager to join our team in the after-school care at Carnoustie OOSC- Burnside Primary School- Carnoustie, Angus. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading care services, particularly in areas such as OOSC, ELC, Youth work or other childcare facilities.
Responsibilities
* Supervising and engaging with Primary School children within an After School Club, 16 hours a week, 3pm to 6pm term time plus 1 additional hour per week, Monday to Friday, Term-Time only. Additional hours may be available.
* Follow the lead and direction of the Peripatetic Manager- being responsible for the service in their absence.
* Lead, organise, supervise and engage in learning and play experiences with our children.
* Arrange and co-ordinate the safe transportation of children from various sites.
* Buy and organise healthy snacks and liaise with parents and carers daily.
* Distribute invoices as required.
* Keep local policies and procedures up to date and in-line with the groups quality assurance processes.
* Hold staff meetings in the manager's absence, and support self-improvement and evaluation processes.
* Engage with other professionals from the company network as required.
* Implement safeguarding procedures for children and be a designated child protection officer and first aider.
Qualifications
You will hold a qualification in Childcare, Playwork or Children and Young People at SVQ level 3 (practitioner), HNC or equivalent. You will have a sound knowledge of child-development and ample related working experiences. You must have child protection knowledge and be a designated officer for our service. You must have good IT skills. We require you to have self-evaluation experience. You must be a child-centred person with a passion for play and high-quality opportunities.
Rate of pay will reflect qualifications and experience. You will be subject to a PVG disclosure check and you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of appointment. All appointments come with a 6 month probationary period.

This job is part of a funding arrangement with the Scottish Government which is due to end 31st March 2025. Employment after this date is expected but not guaranteed. More information will be given at interview stage.
Pay: £12.00-£13.00 per hour
