InfluenceMap is a world-renowned non-profit think tank working on cutting-edge climate and sustainability issues. We are best known for the LobbyMap platform, which analyses corporate policy engagement activities on climate change and biodiversity loss. Our work has been featured in the media globally, used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns. Other workstreams are the FinanceMap platform - assessing the climate credentials of the financial sector, and the Carbon Majors platform – which tracks emissions from the worlds’ largest polluters. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul and São Paulo, this is an opportunity to be part of a team of 70 friendly and dynamic professionals and to help shape our culture as we continue to grow and evolve as an organization. You will also have the chance to work with our global network of partners to help develop and share our cutting-edge content. There will be opportunities for overseas travel to ensure cohesion with our global teams. We are seeking a UK-based Junior Developer to work on data-intensive projects and platforms within our operations. You will also help evolve the underlying data and software systems that drive our work. Our systems are written in Python and standard web technologies. You will be familiar with these and be able to contribute to the development and maintenance of our platforms and applications. Working closely with key external datasets we deploy for our work, you will work across InfluenceMap projects including our core activity, tracking corporate climate lobbying globally. This position would suit an individual wishing to develop programming skills with a dynamic team in a mission-driven environment. Our office is in London, but we will accept applications for remote-working in different parts of the country. Full training in our systems will be provided. Our approach is highly data-orientated and involves accuracy, consistency and great attention to detail. Following your training and fully grasping our methodologies and organizational style/processes, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the trajectory of the climate and nature agendas.
