You will provide high quality consultation, specialist assessment and intervention to deliver effective, person centred clinical services for people who have come into contact or are at risk of contact with the criminal justice agencies.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Community Forensic Team is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nursing, occupational therapy, social work, psychology and psychiatry. You will be expected to work in all areas of Cheshire and Merseyside and liaise with a number of partner agencies including health, social care and the Criminal Justice agencies to develop proactive and preventative risk mitigation support. You will be required to work primarily 9-5, Monday to Friday.

Job responsibilities
1. To hold a clinical caseload.
2. Operate as the Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead for the Specialist Community Forensic team and Step Down Services.
3. Provide highly specialised clinical expertise in Occupational Therapy focusing on rehabilitation and recovery through meaningful occupation based on evidence based practice.
4. To provide comprehensive risk assessment of offending and/or other complex behaviours and provide risk management strategies and recommendations.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
* Post graduate study/short course for CPD.
* Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) registration.
Desirable
* Post Registration training in a therapeutic/intervention approach (e.g. in a specific psychological therapy such as CBT, CAT, Applied Behavioural Analysis and Intervention).
* Forensic Risk Assessment (RSVP, HCR-V3).
* Post registration training in leadership.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* Experience of working with people who have a learning disability or autistic people who offend.
* Experience of staff training and development.
* Application of Occupational Therapy models of practice, standardised assessment and outcome measures.
Desirable
* Experience of working within a community based service.
* Experience of service development and evaluation, for example project work, audit and research.
* Experience of working in forensic settings.
Skills
Essential
* Ability to work in a multiagency context.
Desirable
* Ability to respond to crisis situations, providing advice and guidance.
