Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description:
Bunzl UK & Ireland supplies a range of over 100,000 products including food packaging, disposable supplies, catering equipment, healthcare consumables, and cleaning and safety products to various sectors.
We are looking for professionals with a good knowledge of Accounts Payable to join our thriving team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable process, accurately inputting data related to purchase and expense invoices, managing and reconciling supplier accounts, addressing queries, and arranging payments to suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Investigating price and quantity differences
2. Receiving, scanning, and recording supplier and intercompany invoices, matching invoices to orders, and posting to the appropriate supplier accounts
3. Timely management of purchase invoice and payment queries, updating tickets, liaising with suppliers, and proactively seeking resolution through internal communication channels
4. Generating payment runs and raising manual payments as required
5. Performing monthly and ad-hoc supplier statement reconciliations
6. Setting up and maintaining supplier accounts
7. Recording purchase card spend and reconciliations
8. Highlighting recurring issues & process improvement opportunities to line management
9. BACS payment experience
10. Other Accounts Payable / Purchase To Pay activities to support the team
Skills and Experience:
1. Computer literate, numerate, with attention to detail, logical and methodical approach
2. Would suit a recent graduate looking for their first role within finance
3. Ability to follow documented and auditable processes
4. Knowledge of Sage accounting system or similar
5. Written communication skills
6. Organisational and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to manage demanding workloads and work under pressure to meet deadlines
8. Enthusiasm for working with people and a flexible approach to work
