Job Description
Taylor Hopkinson are leading the search for a Control and Instrumentation Engineer on behalf of our client, to be based in Scotland.
You will be responsible for safe maintenance of control and instrumentation system hardware and software, along with the development and integration of new solutions to deliver remote asset supervision and control.
Responsibilities
Support delivery of upper quartile asset performance, providing engineering support and maintenance management
Ensure SCADA system configuration control through accurate documentation and periodic backup control system software and parameters
Support maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA data interfaces connected to company second level SCADA systems and other data retrieval systems
Assessing all proposed technical changes under the business engineer change process
Trouble shoot and repair defective systems
Implement and test solutions to provide remote visibility and control of assets
Support Grid code compliance through monitoring and maintenance of critical control systems, interfaces, TNO/DNO data provision systems
Maintain compliance with company cybersecurity standards by regularly assessing SCADA systems for vulnerabilities
Provide engineering support on control systems to asset optimisation team in the development and validation of performance upgrades
Your Profile
Expert knowledge of PLC operation, programming and management
Expert knowledge of a broad range of communication protocols used in SCADA systems in the electrical generation industry
Knowledge of wind farm internal network topology design and maintenance
Up to date working knowledge of relevant safety legislation
Understanding of O&M contracts and technical scope
Proficient in creating comprehensive technical documentation
