Fixed-Term Contract for 6 months from appointment
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic project officer to help drive forward a number of high profile climate change projects.
The Council’s Corporate Strategy commits to tackling climate change through work to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs, as well as enhancing biodiversity. This post will be responsible for progressing projects to help deliver the Council’s Climate Change Action Programme and the Biodiversity Action Programme. Possible examples include taking forward proposals to deliver more EV charging in Council car parks, supporting work to provide a new cycle route through a park, work to improve the Council’s management of sustainable urban drainage (SUDs) and coordination of work to begin the restoration of a fire damaged former farmhouse.
You will be joining a climate change team which includes 5 other officers with varied responsibilities including for example biodiversity, decarbonisation of public buildings, supporting residents to reduce energy and carbon emissions from homes, advising on net zero new developments and community engagement in relation to climate and biodiversity.
If you have experience of project management and have a background in environmental management, development or sustainability, as well as experience of working with Councillors and external stakeholders, we would love to hear from you.

The intention is for the post holder to work predominantly from home; however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
