Job Title: Warehouse / Despatch Operative
Location: Palethorpe’s Bakery Maer Lane, Market Drayton, Shropshire TF9 3AL
Join us on a FIXED TERM contract with the opportunity to become a permanent member of our team!
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am
Pay: £11.77 p/h - £13.75
We are recruiting for Warehouse / Despatch Operatives for our busy warehouse area of Palethorpes Bakery.
These are Fixed term roles until January 2025, with a potential for a permanent role at the end of the fixed term contract.

Job Purpose:
As a Warehouse Despatch Operative, you will play a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of the logistics department
within a fast-paced food production environment. This hands-on role will see you involved in all aspects of the despatch process,
from picking and putting away stock to loading outbound vehicles and unloading deliveries. Your attention to detail, high
standards, and teamwork will ensure that our customers receive their products on time, every time, and in perfect condition.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Champion Health & Safety:
* Actively promote a culture of safety, health, and environment in line with company policies.
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
* Work to uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality in every task.
2. Order Picking & Assembly:
* Accurately pick customer orders using scanning technology to maintain stock control.
* Ensure all products are in date, prepared for safe transit, and correctly labelled.
* Use the stock management system to print pick tickets and ensure goods are handled correctly.
3. Outbound Loading:
* Ensure accurate loading of outbound vehicles to meet customer delivery standards.
* Complete load sheets and associated documentation accurately.
4. Put away & Stock Replenishment:
* Safely operate counterbalance or reach trucks to put away products from the drop zone.
* Replenish pick slots by ensuring stock is rotated based on shelf life, using the factory’s stock management system.
5. Unloading Deliveries:
* Unload and check incoming deliveries promptly and accurately, ensuring all documentation is correctly processed.
* Maintain organization within the dispatch area, ensuring it’s clear and ready for the next tasks.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Licenses: Counterbalance License, Reach Truck License, PPT License.
* Stock Management: Comfortable using stock management systems with high accuracy and attention to detail.
* Team Player: Able to collaborate with colleagues, drivers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
* Numeracy & Detail-Oriented: Strong numerical skills and attention to detail when handling stock and paperwork.
* Communication: Clear verbal and written English skills to ensure smooth coordination across teams.
* Self-Motivation: Ability to work unsupervised and maintain high productivity in a busy environment.
* Physical Stamina: Comfortable with the physical aspects of the role, including lifting, moving stock, and operating machinery.
