Legal Assistant in Property and Construction
Location: Shrewsbury
Permanent
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm
Our client is looking for a Legal Assistant to join their business on a permanent basis. This is a new role following a period of continued growth where the Managing Director & Senior Management Team need additional support. This role will focus on a range of legal administrative duties in the property/construction sector.
Responsibilities
1. Work with the Senior Management team to understand current projects and needed support.
2. Attend regular meetings with the MD, take minutes, and assist with follow-up actions or documentation requests.
3. Send out documentation and agreements such as section 106 agreements.
4. Support with queries and structural warranty claims.
5. Liaise with external legal/consultancy companies to check on progress and chase documentation.
6. Run and manipulate reports for the management team, suggesting improvements for data usage.
7. Communicate with external providers to obtain information or address issues.
8. Manage the MD’s diary, ensuring events and meetings are effectively booked.
9. Assist with additional administrative tasks like booking travel or accommodation for the Director when required.
10. Prepare reports for the MD, customizing their presentation as needed.
11. Occasionally attend meetings with the MD to provide support and take minutes.
Skills and Experience
1. Experience in a legal assistant role, preferably within the property or legal sector.
2. PA/Secretarial or similar experience, with an instinct for necessary support.
3. Excellent organizational skills.
4. Ability to build a strong rapport with the MD and senior management team.
5. Strong IT skills, familiar with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
6. Ability to manage own workload and prioritize key tasks.
7. Flexibility to support wider teams when needed.
8. Ability to work under pressure.
9. High attention to detail.
10. Confident numerical skills.
11. Proficient in MS Office.
