This role requires a highly organised Project and Engagement Manager to work within Compass’ Education sector. The role works within the sector’s Social Value team to drive our Social Value agenda. The remit of the role is unique and demands a range of skills to support the development of projects through to business as usual via change management and employee engagement practice. As the Social Value strategy in Chartwells evolves, the driving force behind the execution of guidance, standards, processes, and procedures is a skilled and dedicated Project and Engagement Manager.In this role, you will be coordinating organisational change management across various projects within our business. Our Social Value strategy is rooted in the organisation’s three promises – Our Social, Climate and Wellbeing promises. It’s a pivotal moment in time; and this role will contribute to the operational translation of commitments across the business so that practical, sustainable change is implemented to business as usual. The role will also report and evaluate Chartwells’ social value status and support with evidence collation for education contracts.The successful candidate will have a background in project and change management, data analysis and reporting, have excellent communication skills, and a passion for engaging stakeholders to realise change.
Key Responsibilities
* Improve the awareness for internal Chartwells stakeholders of our commitment to delivering social value locally, so they may be encouraged to participate in Social Value delivery
* Support a culture of engagement with all our people so that they understand the role they need to play in social value delivery
* Project manage projects for the social value team, supporting the team with tools, techniques and programme coordination
* Create and maintain the social value programme schedule
* Support the launch of projects to the business
* Gather data to evidence Social Value status for Chartwells
* Ongoing reporting of all Social Value related projects, nationally, regionally and locally.
* Devise reporting mechanisms and monitor social value activity so that business decisions can be informed and responsive
* Create and manage an internal network of Social Value Ambassadors so they can encourage local teams to participate in Social Value delivery
* Acts as the gatekeeper and point of contact for Social Value collateral
* Contribute to business development activity including bid submissions
Person Specification
* At least 3 years’ experience working in project and/or change management
* Analytical capability and an interest in data to drive solutions
* Experience of multi-partner working to deliver community impact
* Project and change management (or similar) methodology certification/qualification
* Strong communications skills and clear expertise
* Analytical capability and an interest in digital technology/solutions
* Confidence explaining complex issues in an easy and understandable way
* Effective management of key internal stakeholders
* Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with high professional standards and integrity.
* Excellent analytical skills, with a strong risk awareness and thorough understanding of processes and controls.
* Commercially aware and strategically focused.
