This full-time position offers a temporary to permanent contract and is ideal for someone committed to helping students who require additional support outside mainstream education. As an Alternative Education Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering tailored learning programs that cater to the individual needs of students who require alternative education pathways. You will work closely with other staff to provide a nurturing, structured environment where students can engage in learning and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to the specific needs of students in an alternative provision setting. Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills. Collaborate with staff to ensure students are fully supported in their educational journey. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement. Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience in a tutoring or teaching role in alternative education is desirable, but not essential. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students in alternative provision settings. Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff. A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
