About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our high-profile data science team helping shape the future of insurance at Aviva through cutting-edge analytics. The insurance industry is evolving rapidly, and Aviva is investing in data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics as key capabilities.
The UK team is recognized as a centre of excellence within our Global Data Science Practice, providing data-driven insights to improve decision-making across the group.
Key Responsibilities
You will work with one of the richest insurance datasets in the world, applying sophisticated techniques at all stages of the data science process. You will lead a team to formulate problems, extract and prepare data, develop models, and deploy solutions.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Numerate with a degree or postgraduate qualification (MSc) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
* Several years of experience solving complex, non-routine problems, with expertise in Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or AI.
* Experience across all data science processes: problem definition, data acquisition and wrangling, modeling, feature engineering, and deployment.
* Programming skills in R, Python, SQL, SAS, or Spark.
* Ability to deliver projects, collaborate with operational teams, and communicate technical concepts to non-specialists.
