We would love you to come and join our stroke speech and language therapy teams in Salford for a 12-month Fixed Term contract to cover a maternity leave.
You will be part of the stroke service offering Speech and Language Therapy provision for patients admitted via the stroke pathway. You will be based on the hyperacute and rehabilitation stroke wards delivering a communication and dysphagia service.
This post will require you to have skills in managing adults with a range of swallowing and communication difficulties. Alongside this, you will also work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and have opportunities to contribute to service development and quality improvement programs.
We are keen to pursue innovative treatments within SLT as well as be involved in research. We are looking for a like-minded individual to come and join us.
All applicants must have a degree in Speech & Language Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the RCSLT.
Main duties of the job
You will provide assessment, treatment, and management of adults with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Previous experience of working with adults would be an advantage but we are happy to take applications from Newly-Qualified Therapists.
We would welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about providing a quality service to our patients and who are willing to grow their knowledge and skills in these clinical areas. In return, we will provide supervision, protected CPD time, and a preceptorship programme to support completion of the RCSLT newly qualified competencies.
There is a strong network of 5 SLTs across the Northern Care Alliance and you will have access to this peer, supportive group.
