Job Title: Research and Development Manager Salary: £40,000- £45,000 per annum dependent upon experience Location: Saffron Walden, Essex An opportunity has become available to join an approved Part 145 MRO as a Research and Development Manager at their site just outside of Saffron Walden, Essex. The company specialises in developing new repairs for aircraft components via Part 21J design and has a full range of C- ratings as well as a CAA BCAR approved aerospace welding workshop. They provide component repairs to a wide range of aircraft operators including Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, ATR and Bombardier. The company offers solutions on reliability problems, reducing delays, lowering operator and FHA providers stock holding requirements, associated administration and costs. The role of the R&D Manager is to plan, direct and co-ordinate the work and operations of the R&D workshops to grow the services available to support our external and internal customer’s needs. Manage and capture cost for internal and external projects and maintain future budgets, provide a weekly plan for actual work completed against target. Develop team members for optimum performance and maximum productivity providing all aspects of HR support. This is a permanent position working Monday- Friday, 8.00am- 4.30pm. The post holder would be expected on site full time, there is no hybrid working available with this role. Main Responsibilities: Provide all aspects of HR support for the team under your responsibility. Supervise workshop teams according to the company policy. Plan daily tasks and activities to deliver business unit objectives. Set employee goals and objectives to maximise team members potential. Implement procedures and systems to maximize R&D operating efficiency. Formulate department/unit policies and practices. Review performance data to monitor and measure productivity, this is to include cost of projects and budget control. Improve communication between R&D and other internal departments. Develop Training plan for your own growth to be Familia with components and aerospace documentation and legislation. Develop R&D to plan and Support production and implement selected projects to improve workshop departments. (Projects to be agreed) To manage the important role of R&D claims including, monitoring, logging, preparing all necessary information for the claim and working with the designated company to enter the claim.
