Fleet Synthetic Training at Sea (FAS) Subject Matter Expert Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Fleet Synthetic Training at Sea Subject Matter Expert (FAS SME) who will be a key support to providing expert operational and technical knowledge regarding BMD and Aegis weapons, sensors, and the Aegis Combat System. As a member of the Naval Surface Warfare Command (NSWC) - Corona Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Operations Team, this position is based on the Navy’s growing demand to employ an LVC integrated environment into fleet training events. The intent of the initiative is to enable all live units and virtual/constructive entities to detect, track, classify and engage all other entities and units, with both kinetic and non-kinetic effects, within the limitations of the real-world systems. Job Description: Assist with the design and execution of Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) events in a Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environment. Perform engineering, operations, and project management activities in order to support the training audience and training commands’ utilization of the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) and associated modeling and simulation tools. Utilize the FST-at-Sea (FAS) configuration, provide reach back support for Ballistic Missile Defense or related operations supporting the Aegis Weapon System, Aegis Combat System, and shipboard Embedded Training Systems employment during fleet underway training exercises and events. Plan and assist in the development and integration of the Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) Aegis model and other joint BMD models that will interact with JSAF and live units. Draft point papers, presentations and other correspondence related to BMD and Aegis issues. Review ongoing BMD and Aegis initiatives and evolving technology as they apply to the NCTE and ensure joint/coalition interoperability considerations. Review and monitor BMD and Aegis requirements. Attend meetings as directed by NSWC Corona and the assigned NCTE staff. Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 years of ABMD experience (completed one tour on an ABMD ship, Shore Command or ABMD training site (CSCS, ATRC, or ATG) and assigned to BMD mission support. In some cases, education and experience requirements may be adjusted or waived for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience Must have performed as CSTT member and/or Senior Enlisted Leader. Must be Proficient with BFTT and ACTS operations, to include (but not limited to) set up and CSOSS procedures. Must be qualified as Combat Systems Coordinator (CSC), Air Warfare Coordinator (AWC), Missiles Systems Supervisor (MSS), Training Supervisor (TRASUP), Ballistic Missile Defense Officer (BMDO) and/or Tactical Action Officer (TAO). Desired Qualifications: Prefer a previous STO or CSMM with 20 years of experience with operating the ACS in training, test and tactical operations. Experience with SSDS a plus Possess a thorough working knowledge of ABMD Aegis Core Tactics & Aegis Core Tactics Possess a working knowledge of Link 16 architectures with respect to BMDS support Possess a working knowledge of shipboard installed embedded training systems Possess a working knowledge of JSAF/NCTE and ACS requirements to support distributed training architectures and/or other M&S experience Security Requirements: Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.
